Deshaun Watson and his new contract extension with the Houston Texans may not lead to future success.
Ian Rapoport reported Saturday Deshaun Watson and the Houston Texans agreed on a four-year, $160 million contract extension. Watsons' new contract includes $111 million in guarantees and keeps him under contract through the 2025 season. His contract is the second biggest in NFL history behind Patrick Mahomes' contract back in the summer. The move was expected to happen as the two sides wanted to get the deal done before the season started.
In three seasons as the starting quarterback for the Texans, Watson has...
NFL teams used cut day to trim down their rosters as they prepare for the 2020 regular season.
Saturday saw NFL teams cut down their rosters from 80 players to 53 players. Cut day usually consists of some surprising moves from teams. Despite the Jadeveon Clowney news to Tennessee, there were still plenty of headlines to go around Saturday.
Notable NFL Moves on Cut Day
Patriots Cut RB Lamar Miller
Lamar Miller came into the New England Patriots training camp with an uphill battle to earn a backup role behind Sony Michel. With too many running backs on the roster and Miller being...
Jadeveon Clowney and his long wait are finally over as the Tennessee Titans have landed the best available player in free agency.
It was an eventful night for Jadeveon Clowney as he has been rumored to be talking to the Tennessee Titans for a while. ESPN's Dianna Russini first reported that Clowney had chosen the Titans over the New Orleans Saints.
The news took a quick turn as it may not have been the case just yet. ESPN's Josina Anderson reported shortly afterward Clowney told her he had not made a decision at that point.
About an hour later, Russini came back...
The Brooklyn Nets hiring Steve Nash is a major risk with no experience on the resume.
Surprised NBA fans got the news Wednesday that the Brooklyn Nets hired NBA hall of famer Steve Nash. ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported the deal is a four-year deal to become their new head coach.
The move was not expected as Steve Nash wasn't mentioned as a candidate for the Nets head coaching job. Nash had a successful career in the NBA with 18 seasons playing for the Phoenix Suns, Dallas Mavericks, and Los Angeles Lakers. He made eight NBA All-Stars and won two MVP awards....
Leonard Fournette joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers should put them well into the Super Bowl conversation.
Multiple outlets reported Wednesday night that running back Leonard Fournette signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The deal is worth $3.5 million on a one-year deal with incentives, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Fournette was released by the Jacksonville Jaguars Monday after the team attempted to trade him this offseason. He was the Jaguars' first-round pick in 2017 with an up and down experience in Jacksonville. During his three seasons in the NFL, Fournette ran for over 1,000 yards in two of three seasons. Issues...
The Giants signing Logan Ryan helps their secondary, but it doesn't mean they will improve this season.
Ian Rapoport reported Monday the New York Giants signed cornerback Logan Ryan to a one-year, $7.5 million deal.
New Jersey native Ryan returns home for the first time since playing with the Rutgers football team in 2012. Ryan expressed his excitement for returning back home to New Jersey.
Logan Ryan played his first four seasons in New England where he won two Super Bowls with the Patriots. Ryan then landed a $30 million deal with the Tennessee Titans where he played the next three seasons....
While the Jaguars releasing Leonard Fournette wasn't a surprise, the team might be on their way to a rough season.
The Jacksonville Jaguars posted on social media Monday morning they released running back Leonard Fournette.
Earlier in the offseason, Jacksonville had declined Fournette's fifth-year option on his contract which showed the beginning of his end there. Adam Schefter reported the Jaguars have been trying to trade Fournette since the spring, but never got the deal they wanted. Jacksonville head coach Doug Marrone commented on the Fournette release saying, "We couldn't get anything, a fifth, a sixth, anything. We couldn't get anything."
The Minnesota Vikings got a great deal from the Jacksonville Jaguars for defensive end Yannick Ngakoue.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that the Jaguars traded Yannick Ngakoue to Minnesota for a second and conditional fifth-round pick.
It has been well documented that Ngakoue has been requesting a trade since March. He was franchise tagged by Jacksonville on March 13 despite not wanting to return to the team. Ngakoue got into a Twitter feud with Jaguars co-owner Tony Kahn telling him to "Just trade me."
Ngakoue has dominated since joining Jacksonville as their third-round pick in 2016. He's recorded at least eight sacks in...
Sam Darnold is faced with a whole new receiving core, but are the new Jets receivers ready for the challenge?

New York went to work quickly adding Breshad Perriman in free agency this offseason. They also drafted Denzel Mims from Baylor in the second round of the NFL Draft. In the past two weeks, the Jets have signed Chris Hogan and are planning on signing Donte Moncrief, according to Ian Rapoport.

Andre Dillard's injury now leaves the Eagles with a glaring problem with depth on the offensive line.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that Eagles starting left tackle Andre Dillard tore his biceps at training camp Thursday. The injury will most likely result in season-ending surgery next week. Dillard suffered the injury during one-on-one drills in practice.
Losing the former first-round pick will most likely mean that current right guard Jason Peters could be returning to his old position. Peters was originally resigned this summer to replace Brandon Brooks who suffered an Achilles injury that will prevent him from playing this season as...
