NBA Awards: What’s on the Line

With the NBA planning to make its return at the end of July, the resumption of the 2019-2020 season means a new NBA Champion will be crowded. They’ll do so inside a limited bubble in Orlando, FL, as the league has made arrangements with Disney for the use of the ESPN’s Wide World of Sports Complex. This return-to-play scenario has 22 teams vying for playoff seeding and ultimately the championship.

What’s also on the line? The NBA Awards.

The league boasts a series of prestigious awards that go out to some of their best players. The most famous award is the Most Valuable Player. But there are also trophies for Rookie of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Sixth Man, Most Improved Player and Coach of the Year.

These awards are all sought after from the tip of the season to its final game. Odds for these NBA awards slide up and down in Vegas and online, with gamblers putting millions of dollars down on different names.

So here’s a look at what’s on the line for these players as they return and seek these NBA awards.
